My master bus limiter is generally the Sonnox Oxford Limiter, which at least the version that I have is a pretty light weight on resource consumption. Pro-L is pretty good and is actually the one I use for applying to random channels or buses, generally. Red lining anywhere before the master bus is not a big deal, it's not the output and you are likely mixing in floating point, so things aren't really clipping.īut yeah, transparent limiters, my favorite kind of limiter. By "stems" do you mean on your group buses? or on all your channels? I don't often put limiters on either, unless they are red lining a lot and that distracts me or something like that.
